WEEVA WINS GLOBAL RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AWARD
Sustainability Platform Weeva has won the Global Responsible Tourism Award 2023 for Addressing Climate Change.
Managing Director Julie Cheetham also joined a panel on Responsible Tourism at World Travel Market London this week on the Innovate Stage, moderated by renowned Harold Goodwin of the Responsible Tourism Partnership.
Joining Julie on the esteemed panel were Shannon Guihan, Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of TreadRight for The Travel Corporation, Rochelle Turner, Head of Sustainability for Exodus Adventure Travels and Inge Huijbrechts, Global Sustainability Security Senior Executive for Radisson Hotel Group.
Conversations focused around “Countering Greenwashing, Positive-Impact Tourism”, offering guidance and insights on how to differentiate genuine sustainability success stories from the plethora of greenwashing, backed by data and science – as well as tips on how best to drive meaningful, measurable positive-impact tourism.
The WTM London accolades wrap up a successful year of award wins for the start-up that celebrated its first anniversary in September. Notably, Julie Cheetham was recognised as Regenerative Change Maker of the Year at the 2023 edition of the Regenerative Travel Impact Awards in New York.
